Decided to make a thread about the difference between each series of models and whats in them as they can get confusing, esp when deciding which 1 to purchase.

-if you want a comparison for any series or models just post your question here. or if you want to know what type of hardware is in a model (e.g, cpu, chipset, fsb, vga, optical, features, etc)

I've already done thing a couple times over....... personally I don't feel like doing it again.. but if you just search you can bring that tread to the forefront again.

I believe the W3 [and barebone derivatives] are the only 14" models we'll be seeing in a long while.

i'm wondering if there's any upcoming asus notebook that will get us as excited as the w3v. as much fanfare and revitalization the forum has recieved, i don't want to leave out any future releases before i bite the bullet on purchasing the w3v.

well let's make it easy, i'm dead set on 14" and i don't like the configuration of the whitebook w3 so is the w3v the end of the road for me?

I think 14" widescreen is going to be THE most popular formfactor in computers this year...... period.. Every company should be focusing on this size this year, from the cheapest gateway celeron cheapo models to the highest end system like the W3. However, aside from the W3v and the barebone, washed down version, the Z63a (no color shine screen, no dedicated graphics, pearl white, etc)... I don't think we'll see another 14" widescreen unless they make one for say the AMD turion.... which I don't see on the roadmap.

    Thanks,
    Justin

    Yes,

I would very much like to know where I can find an Asus notebook model comparison.

There are so many series and would take me forever to go through - http://www.asus.com/products2.aspx?l1=5&l2=-1

Is there a site where I can get a quick overview of processor, chipset, screen size, ports, etc?)

I'm looking at a high end one with a minimum 15" screen, and preferably with docking station and ability to add extra RAM.
    Thanks,

Try the ASUS Z71v. Probably the best bang for the buck you can get...very customizable

ASUS M6800Ne, P-M 1.5 Dothan, 512MB Ram, Toshiba Combo drive, Samsung Spinpoint M 40G HDD with 8M cache, Mobility Radeon 9700
