Here is an article (well sentence actually) linked from engadget that shows the new Asus N10 as having a 9300gs dedicated gpu. As far as I know this is the first netbook with a dedicated card assuming its not a typo. I've been looking for the perfect netbook to compliment my 9lb laptop and if this baby has a dedicated gpu and they eventually drop the dual-core atom I'm sold unless it tops $1000.

Sorry if this has been mentioned before but this was news to me and using the search I never found a thread mentioning the dedicated gpu.

The N10 also has an HDMI port so my guess is that GPU is primarily there to support that.
There have been new pictures taken of the N10 and there is an Nvidia sticker on the palmrest so its pretty much confirmed.
The GMA 950 in the Atom chipset cannot support HDMI and Intel will not allow them touse their newest integrated graphics (GMA X4500 in Centrino 2) in the Atoms, so Asus had to go to Nvidia for graphics powerful enough to power HDMI out. -
personally I really see this as a not needed option. They are focusing on the wrong aspects of these new sub notebooks. 4500 is plenty. I want to see the new Dual Core Atom with a low powered X4500 and chipset. That would be a step in the right direction.

Wouldn't the atom become the part slowing everything down then?

Do want. If it's out before christmas I'm buying one for my Japan holiday.

I also think it's a least a bit weird to push a dedicated GPU in a netbook... and couple it with a very slow CPU.
But it will probably sell... people go mainly by numbers and performance (they always did) not by how much sense configurations make. -

Well I bought and then canceled my MSI Wind purchase the other day. I thought it had everything I want and well it does except the 3cell battery sucks
I only cut it off because I heard of the N10 and also the Aspire 1 was similar but cheaper.
I already planned to put my SNES games on there, but with a low end dedicated in there also that very much makes it a reality to play some good games on low settings so I am really all for this, but the price is what matters!
I want a netbook to have something very easy to carry with me everywhere I go, mostly for entertainment. So games are the best way to go, especially if you end up somewhere that does not have wi-fi or feel like paying $70 a month for wireless internet.
If its like $800 id just get a mini notebook with more, if they can manage $600, I think I would pay the $100 more for the dedicated gpu power over the WIND as long as it has all the other functions and is a well made "netbook" the main problem I see is that I am pretty sure the battery life will suffer and battery life is a main priority for a netbook.
So until more information is out its still all about the MSI Wind or the Acer Aspire One.
Prob the One for my wife, and the Wind for me (I need bluetooth, the One does not have it)

It is a little weird putting a dedicated gpu in a netbook since they are being marketed as cool, cheap, power efficient, and light-weight and the dedicated card will hurt all of those. But the fact is I will not buy one with a gma900 or 950 coupled with the slowest processor available because any games I would want to play would be unplayable (I would consider a x3100 or x4500 but haven't even seen that available yet). Since my main laptop is 9lbs I've been waiting on a netbook that I could use everyday but I have been underwhelmed by their power and don't wanna settle for a higher powered 13.3 that weighs 5lbs or a plus $2000 11.1 that is still very weak. This baby fills a niche and I would pay $1000 for the specs listed below.
I think that with a dualcore Atom, 2gb, a 64gb ssd, XP, and a lower power dedicated card coupled with a 6-cell battery I could get 4 hrs of battery life (plenty for me) on the internet and still be able to play an hour of WOW or CSS when I had some downtime and some extra juice left. -

Amazon has the 160gb 6 cell XP Acer aspire 1 on sale now... glad I did not get the Wind in a way because this seems to be a better deal.
Im still going to wait it out tho for more Aspire One info and for the N10 to be released or atleast have the price announced. -

I just saw a deal for the Dell netbook that said if you purchased a studio 15, or xps 13 or 15 you could get it also for an extra $99. So if they have one of their great deals going on I could see getting 2 comps for less than $800... Not sure of the specs and since I'm not replacing my main computer yet it doesn't affect me but thought you might like to know.

I keep going back and forth between getting one of these better netbooks or upgrading my crackberry for a better smartphone. It's either this one, the dell mini or the MSI wind.
