Does anyone know where to get a replacement keyboard for the N10J?

I sold my N10J-A2 a few months ago to get a thin & light notebook, but I found that I'd rather have a smaller netbook with better battery life rather than a faster CPU.

Then I bought an N10J-X1 off eBay only to find that the keyboard is messed up beyond belief. The [\] key and the [Enter] key have switched places, and the left [Shift] key has been shortened down to add another [\] key next to it. It's ridiculous--I don't know which brilliant genius at Asus came up with the idea, but the keyboard is unusable.

I want to replace the keyboard with a normal one (found on the N10J-A1 and N10J-A2 models), but I can't find one anywhere. eBay has a guy selling a stack of 200 of them for $2,400 but this is not an option. Does anyone have any ideas as to where I can find one?

It's most likely a default stock picture and not the image of the actual keyboard.

Thanks David, I'm going to look around a little more but I'm probably going to buy the one at the Asus eStore by Monday.

Not a problem. Good luck with your search :)

EDIT: FYI the image of the N10J keyboard on the Asus estore website is the Japanese version. The enter key you see is typical for European notebooks. You will definitely not get the Japanese version keyboard.

There's a chance you're still under warranty as the N10J hasn't been out even a year, I'd check with ASUS to see if they'd replace it for you. AFAIK the warranty is still valid even after resale as long as the serial has been registered, or if you can get the original retail receipt. This doesn't apply to Best Buy models but the N10 never was distributed through those channels.

I think David is right anyway, the keyboard is the US part # but the picture is obviously wrong.

Thanks for all your help. I replaced my old keyboard with the one from the eStore an dmy N10J is great for touch typing again.
