I've read some reviews saying that the battery life was quite short , about 1-2 hrs, however is this with the nvidia graphics on or the integrated? cuz i was wondering why theres such a difference in battery life between these laptops with a okay graphics card and a great one? if they just run the integrated, shouldnt it be almost the same, considering all the other specs are almost identical?

I get well over three hours on the move using the Battery Saving power plan on my JM. But yes, that would be running almost exclusively on the integrated graphics. The dedicated nVidia graphics would only kick in for more demanding applications, like games or 3D modelling, which isn't the sort of thing I'd expect to make use of while on battery. If you want to get some more impressions on the battery life for the N43 skim the thread in my sig, coladuna also posted his thoughts on using a 9 cell battery as opposed to the standard 6 cell.

you do have to remember that some laptops are made different from others. in that matter you have some that can run on idle with just 5wh, others need 16wh, and its there that you have the difference (aside the battery capacity off course)

But battery aside you have to remember that every OEM makes their own boards, and those have different power consumptions.
