I'm looking for some informations referring to this model, btw review and videos seems to be missing on the whole web. I found some "review" made in foreign language (nothing that sounds like italian/spanish or english).
To me, this should be the alternative to the XPS 15 (that has tons of images/photos all around). But sounds hard to make some comparison about temperatures under load and performance/driver of the Asus![]()
Thanks in advance for the help![]()

Quick review of my N53JF-XE1...
Pros:
- Build quality is outstanding
- Touchpad: Responsive, smooth, finger-print-free
- Speakers: Clear and get loud, just what I needed.
- Screen: Though it's not matte, I don't notice many reflections. My laptop is at a desk with two windows shining a lot of light on the screen. Previously I was using a mid-level Acer and there were reflections like crazy. I don't even notice much reflection with this laptop and was surprised at how well it hides it.
- Stays cool. The only heat you feel comes from the exhaust. You don't feel it too much when just web browsing or playing music. When I play SC2, I feel a noticeable amount of heat from the exhaust, but the rest of the laptop stays cool.
Cons:
- Laptop is a little bit bigger than I expected (feels more like a 16" notebook), but doesn't bother me
- Number pad keys are kind of small, but no big deal
- The glossy bezel surrounding the screen is a fingerprint/dust magnet
- Wish the bottom wasn't plasticy, but no bid deal
- Took me awhile to get used to the 1920x1080 resolution, but I've gotten used to it and made necessary changes to make text easier to read
Overall I am very pleased that I went with this model. The Sager 5135 and Dell XPS 15 were also considered. I'll try to get some pictures up. -
Thanx so much man. Hows the touchpads multitouch? The touchpad alnong with the display is the reason im leaning more to the Asus rather than the hp.

Overall I would say it's pretty good, better and more responsive than I expected. Zoom in/out works well. However, for scrolling up/down your fingers have to be more precisely horizontal on the trackpad to accurately register how much you want to scroll. Overall it's great and I find myself using multitouch more than I expected.

Does their "Zero Bright Dot" 30 day screen warranty apply on this N53JF-XE1 ? I can't find any Asus documentation to back that up. 1920x1080 pixel resolution for a 15.6" screen is a crazy dense pixel count so I really want it in print that it is covered.
Thanks all. -
There's a thread in the owner's lounge.
