So basically NCIX.com is selling the Asus N53JF-XR1 for $999 CAD on Backorder

    ASUS N53JF-XR1 15.6IN HD Core i5 460M 4GB 500GB GeForce 425M WIN7 Prem Blu Ray Notebook 1 Year Wrty

I thought that they wouldn't charge my credit card until they fulfill the order but they already charged my visa so that means if they change the price I win =]
This is pretty sweet since MemoryExpress has the JF for $1069.99 but the specs does not include Blu ray (I looked at the manager's product order)

Can anyone confirm the specs of the XR1 model?
Also, if NCIX sends me the model without blu ray it won't be a problem for me to return it because the item I bought says "blu ray" right??

I never shopped with NCIX before but I did notice that they like to label laptops that haven't even come out yet as "backordered" instead of "preorder", which is kind of deceptive (they're doing that for the G53JW and various other models), so in the customer's mind, they believe it'll ship to them ASAP (which it will infact ship on the date decided by Asus). :p

I prefer companies that charge credits cards when it's ready to ship, b/c if you're waiting 2, 3, 4, 5 + weeks for it, you're already losing the 21 day interest grace period (from your credit card) with no laptop in your hand.

    Also, shouldn't it have a 2 year warranty? :p

LOL when I placed my order, it said something like they wouldn't charge my credit card until they're ready to ship it~
Damn it got all my hopes up too cuz this morning the status changed to "Order processing"; the next step is shipping XD

I assume the 1 yr warranty is the accidental, and the 2 year warranty is too long to fit in the title ;)

    **On a side note**
NCIX has a 7 day laptop guarantee thing that lets you refund your laptop w/o hassel and no restocking fee if the laptop you buy is eligible~
