Hello,
A little history...
Bought my Asus on Dec. 2, 2010. When I first started using the laptop everything was running fine. About 1 month later the turbo boost started to have issues, but I was able to fix it by disabling/re-enabling through msconfig. I started getting driver issues and turbo boost problems after system restoring to a previous point so I decided to clean install Windows 7 64 bit. All the drivers are working fine, but I'm still having problems with the Turbo Boost.
Today...
I've been searching for hours on the internet for someone with a solution, but I haven't found a solution yet. Basically, the Intel Turbo boost that is supposed to be built in with my processor simply isn't working. I'm always getting 930 ish Mhz with x7 multiplier no matter what I am trying to execute. I tried overloading my processor by running multiple application, but to no avail. This is really frustrating me knowing that my laptop is running at it's bare minimum. Basically, I'm trying to find a way so that my Turbo Boost will work again.

I would recommend uninstalling P4G and using Win7 power settings.

Enhanced intel speedstep disabled in bios?
-
Check Power4Gear, and set "High Performance", put it at "Maximize performance" and both sliders at 100%. -

Sorry for taking so long to revive this thread. I've been away taking finals for my college.
I updated my P4G to the latest version hoping that would fix my problem, but nothing changed.
I have both sliders at 100%.
Went into my BIOS and could not find anything about Intel Speedstep.
My friend said it may be hardware issue. I uninstalled my Turbo Boost monitor and looked at my CPU speed and nothing changed so I don't know what to do :'( -

So when I power up my laptop and hit esc I enter my BIOS. Scrolling around I cannot find ANYTHING close to intel Turbo Boost. This little bug in my laptop is really irking me. I bought a race horse, but it only seems to walk.

Well, if you don't have that option ( neither do I ), you will need to update your BIOS. -
I was hoping that I would not need to result to that. I don't know much about laptops, but I know that messing around with the BIOS can be a bad thing.
Anyways, is there a way to check which version BIOS I'm running? Looking at the Asus driver support I notice that there have been 2 updates. One for "China marketing issue" (newest version) and one that is just a firmware change. Phistachio, I just wanna say thanks again for your help. I've been searching for an easy fix everywhere, but I think that I came to realize that this is either a BIOS problem or hardware (very unlikely...). Anyways, I'm gonna call up Asus and ask them which version of BIOS I should use. -
No problemo Tony
Messing around with the BIOS is good and bad : when you know how to do it, it's a piece of cake. When something goes puff... Then yeah, you know
It is very unlikely it is a hardware problem. To check the BIOS version, enter the BIOS, and then, while in the "Main" tab, you will see :
BIOS Information
BIOS Vendor - American Megatrends
Version - N61Jq 212 <- That's the BIOS version ( in my laptop, I think it should be the same with yours, but instead of N61Jq, a N53Jq ).
Anyway, could you please describe your problem again, I'm kind of lost
Cheers!
Now, looking at your picture in the OP, I can clearly say that somehow the CPU is at power saving mode, because that's the speed I get when I'm in P4G Battery saving mode...
I THINK, as a last resource, a PC re-format would help.
OT : How did your finals go? Did they go well? -
Finals went OK. Thank goodness my classes have curves or else I would be doomed.
So my problem is that my laptop is always running at 930 MHz no matter what I'm running. Basically, I feel as if my laptop is running at an "idle" stage all the time. In the past I saw the clock go to 3000 MHz. I reformatted twice. 1 time with a clean install of a Windows 7 and the second time I reformatted using my backup CD. -

Please see if the problem is hardware problem by using InteL Turbo Boost Monitor gadget which must be pre-installed as factory default.
or get it here:

Download:

It provides real-time CPU clock-rates as placed on your Windows sidebar. -
Perhaps there is some weird bug which fixed the multiplier in the BIOS? -
I downloaded the Intel Boost Monitor and I can see it go up and down, but it never goes beyond a certain point. It moves up and down about a centimeter at times.
