I just bought my N53JQ yesterday, and am extremely happy with it. When I set it up, I downloaded and installed all the necessary programs I need, but when I downloaded something (I don't know what), I think it may have deleted something.

My Asus has the volume controls on the top of the screen, and they are buttons rather than the small wheel on other PCs. it was working before, but now it suddenly stopped working, and I now have to go in to the taskbar and adjust the volume if I need it.

Any ideas, it's bugging me because I listen to a lot of music.

    Thanks guys.

Reinstall the atk package or atk drivers for your system. These control the hotkeys and whatnot.

I can't find them on the Asus website, or is there a special place

It's here under ATK: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support-

I'd try the global mirror first (not DLM). Sometimes the ASUS servers are really choked, if so, just give it a minute and try again, or you can try the p2p download manager (DLM).

Also, if installing that doesn't work, try uninstalling the ATK package, reboot and then reinstall. Sometimes it gets finicky.
