I've got an N550J notebook. It has an integrated Intel HD4600 GPU as well as an NVidia GeForce GT750M secondary GPU.

As far as I can determine, the Intel card is the main GPU and the NVidia card drives 3D applications. Again, from what I can tell, the driver for the NVidia card is stripped down and only has the 3D settings enabled in the UI.

The Intel card is a POS. It doesn't have the adjustability to be calibrated using a device like a Spyder, and even if you do try to calibrate it, the profile won't stay loaded in the card. The display changes appearance initially, then after 5 minutes, or so, it reverts back to the unprofiled state. It is possible to manually go in and reapply the display profile, but that's a pain - and shouldn't be necessary.

Is it possible; and if so how would I go about doing it, to disable the Intel card and install the full version of the driver for the NVidia card, using that as the main card for the laptop?

    Thanks in advance.

The iGPU is the one that controls the display and serves as a pass-through for the dGPU which does the heavy number crunching - you can't connected the display directly to the GPU without a MUX switch being built into the machine.

How about a version of that for stupid computer users and not programmers/hardware engineers?

You have to modify the motherboard so as to do what you are asking - aka impossible.
