A client of mine wants to buy this laptop. It comes with 8GB ram however, he wants to upgrade to 16gb. According to the following link: Notebook-uri şi Ultrabook-uri - N550JK - ASUS it supports 16GB but its also mentioned that it runs on DDR3L which means 1.35v instead of 1.5v.

And here comes my question. Could anyone confirm if the ram it comes with are really 1.35v or that if it runs with 2x 8GB ram on 1.5v?

    Thank you.

Hello and Welcome to our forum

As you noted on the Asus website, it works with DDR3L memory. I also searched the "Crucial Memory Finder", the memory sticks listed for your laptop are only DDR3L (1.35V) sticks. I suggest you play safe and go with a DDR3L stick.

Both of those are correct. The laptop utilizes DDR3L (1.35 V) as is standard practice now with Haswell-equipped laptops. The laptop will support 16 GB of RAM (2 x 8 GB) also.

1.5 V will work but is not recommended.
