I recently just got the laptop and am in love with it. Everything about it is top notch. From the build quality to the smoothness of the touchscreen and trackpad. My only complaint is that the speakers seem to be louder on the left side than the right. Are my right speakers bad or is this how the speakers are supposed to be. The sound seems to be coming more from the middle of the trackpad than the middle of the laptop. (The trackpad isn't centered to the laptop)

This quadrophonic layout they use now it's not exactly L/R stereo sound, it was made more like a music box for you to listed from a distance.

So then my speakers are working just how they're supposed to? Are the speakers built towards more of the left of the computer?

They are working OK. Try to find the Balance control and you will see that in fact every "channel" takes care of a different fq. It's more like one "3 way" speaker (including the sub - that is why the left side is a bit louder with more mids and the right side seems a bit low on volume - the sub itself is the true heart of the system, without it things are not good at all). In a room the sound is not bad (better than most laptops "ve heard anyway), but like I've said in my review, Dell's Skull candy are a better deal. From B&O you would expect something mind blowing, I know. From my point of view the quadrophonic is BS. I would have used 2 speakers on the sides at the far end for the best image possible and 2 subs under it, in the upper part (there is room). That would have been one sweet system (if they would use decent speakers) that one can use in a laptop, since that external sub is a bit of a pain if you need to carry it and plug it all the time.

this is funny. I have a n750jv and my right speaker is louder than the left. I use the Realtek HD Audio Manager to test them. First I play a sound with the left speaker and then right. Right is always better.Left sounds like the mono speaker of an old portable radio.
but the problem is: It is the same if I plug earphones in: the right earphone is definitely louder than the left.

    is this normal?

Speakers show up for you all as "Quad" and not merely stereo? I've just had the speakers quit working altogether. Phones work as does audio through the hdmi. Nothing muted or such. Drivers look good. None appear to be updated. A real head scratcher.
