My laptop only works through AC power. The laptop works off of the battery Asus N55SF if the battery is charged, but the laptop does not charge the battery. If the battery is plugged in and I plug in the charger the charging light does not come on and the laptop does not power on. On the other hand, when I turn on the laptop and then insert the battery the laptop shows that the battery is charging but the battery does not actually charge up. I thought this was due to a bad battery since I have had this laptop for a couple of years so I bought a new battery but I have the same exact problem. I have tried a different charger but I also have the same problem.

    Laptop specs:

    Asus N55SF
    Windows 7 64 bit

    Battery:

    A32-N55

    Any help would be appreciated

I think you have a motherboard issue.

There are some voltage conversion circuits on the laptop motherboard. I think the issue might be there.
Is the laptop still under warranty?
