    Can anyone advise on whether I can overide Intel gfx and use Nvidia GT635M for gaming purposes? :(

    Rightclick on the application icon > Run with graphics processor.
    You can also set this function in the nvidia control panel on a per-application basis.

    Also make sure you're not running on battery, configure power settings accordingly, and set the NVidia control panel settings for high performance. The NVidia GPU should override the iGPU when it comes to heavy load, while the Optimus will still switch between the two as necessary.
