Asus N56 no illuminated keyboard

So after weeks of researching the Asus N56 series I purchased one (N56-R501VZ-S4236H) and to my surprise I noticed that I there was no backlit keyboard nor could i turn it on... I am very disappointed as one of the main reasons for me purchasing this laptop was for use at night so i would need to see the keys. Can someone please confirm if this model does or doesn't come with a backlit keyboard and whether or not you think the store i purchased it from will understand me returning it (MSY-Australia) :/

 

No, the N56 series as best I know it, does not provide an illuminated keyboard. I can't speculate on the return policy of the retailer you purchased from, but if you're within the window of their return policy period, then I would think there would be no problem in returning or exchanging the laptop.

 

Thanks for your reply but i know for a fact that most of the N56 models come with the illuminated keyboards just not sure about my model :/ Checked the return policy and it only mentions if something is wrong with product or false advertisement.. Is anyone else able to give me some information on this topic. Thnx

Have you tried asking for an exchange?

 

Tried contacting them over the phone 3-4 times and no answer... Will pay them a visit tomorrow and plan on printing out several different stores that list this exact model as having a backlit keyboard.

For anyone having the same issue i have confirmed that this model does come with a backlit but still have not been in contact with store. These sources all say it is backlit, and this is the evidence im going to be showing them.

I have bought the same model from MSY and mine doesn't have backlit keyboard either. I am just wondering if you can let me know how you went with MSY ..have they returned the laptop or have you contacted Asus.

My model no is ASUS N56-R501VZ-S4236H and I am planning to contact MSY and Asus today. Any help will be appreciated.
