Hi. I am from Colombia, so excuse my bad english.
I bought an asus n56jr based on reviews and opinions ( including this forum) but unfortunately i've had bad experiences with the purchase. Every day i'm more disappointed.

The first one I received had two bad pixels and change it with the store where i bought it, the replacement had issues with the wifi antenna and should to change it back . This third N56jr that I have has no problems with pixels or wifi but has a problem with the temperature of the CPU, according to AIDA64 reaches temperatures up to 92 ° C when I run programs like AutoDock Vina or a game like resident evil 6 (with graphics set in low) , the "CPU throtling" according to AIDA64 is up to 19 % .

My guess is that the fan does not work properly , usually marks 3600-3900 when working at full load, while I've seen other fans of asus reaching up to 5000 rpm.

i wrote to Asus tech support but I would like to hear opinions on that might be happening with the laptop and what are the temperatures and fan rpms recorded in your experience. Thanks.

It could be the heatsink is damaged or the paste job was not quite right.

Since your idle temperatures look okay, it is possible it's the fan. To be proactive, it might be best to look at the paste job. It's seldom that the heatsink suffers any damage but if you're inspecting the thermal paste, it's not a bad idea to look at the plate and pipes for any impairment.

3600 > 3900 RPM is normal max fan speed on the asus N56 series, if at that speed it can't cool down the laptop, that mean you have a problem.
if you can return/exchange it just got it, but you really have bad luck here, maybe your supplier have a bad assembled series !

Asus support indicated that I should update the bios to version 204, that if the problem persisted should contact the authorized service center in my city.

No turbo CPU stays below 85 ° C. I was thinking change the thermal paste but after that the warranty ended. If the problem persists will take it for service and speak with them to put better thermal paste also need to give them extra money. Thanks for the replies.

My N56JR gets around 91-92C while gaming, but even then it doesn't throttle, it just lowers the turbo boost slightly. Much better than many other laptops, where the turbo boost is completely turned off, or even throttle to as low as 800MHz in extreme cases.

the N550 even with its 2 fans throttle at 800Mhz, so the N56JR is very good coolled i think.

Seeing the log of aida the frequency is between 2.3 and 3 GHz and temps up 92- but seeing the graphic directly, you could see that the frequency down sometimes below the base frequency. What version of bios you have?

I have bios 2.04. And so far I have never seen it clock below base frequency under full ooad. During light/medium load/no load it will clock lower of course, since there is no need for the power, duting internet surfing/youtube etc it is clocked at 800MHz - the "bottom" frequency.
