    Have you tried doing a CMOS/EC reset by removing the CMOS battery, main battery and power cord for several minutes? The EC (controls fan and monitors temperatures) can be separate from the bios itself.

    The other option is to make sure your temperatures are actually ok.

    If your laptop doesn't have a hotkey associated with fan control, you can try downloading and running SpeedFan as well.
