Hello memebrs! Just bought a brand new N56VZ,opened the laptop and a windows 7 installation wizard started,i finished the install properly without any problems and started to use the pc while a huge amount of windows 7 updates were in download positions....then it asked to reboot as usual to complete the updates installation.
During the restart i noticed that the laptop is booting to safemode(dont know why) and then a secod before entering safe mode it pops up "Failure windows update, rebooting to try again" something like that, sorry i dont remember the exact message. And it kept trying to reboot to safemode without success. So after i understood that there is no way to get my windows back i just enter Bios to see whats going on there and i saw that at the "Boot" section my seagate hdd disapeared!
Now when i turn on the laptop it asks for a bootable cd....the only drive that the laptop "feels" is the dvd....how is it possible?Could it be that suddenly somehow the hdd is damaged?
When i try to install windows 7 from a cd,i cant because it says: Windows cannot be installed to Disk 0 Partition 3 (show details)" - clicking on "show details" gave me "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk is of the GPT partition style."

    Any ideas?

Sounds like a HDD problem or a HDD wiring problem to me.
You might want to contact Asus about that.
