    Hey guys!

I bought my N56VZ 1.5 years ago, got a Hybrid HDD (Seagate Momentus XT 500GB) Cause the internal HDD was 5400rpm. Installed win7 and it worked great for few days, after few days it started to freeze randomly (mostly on idle, or WMP or VLC player or in Photoshop) No blue screen or no function at all. However nothing happens when playing games like borderlands on high quality for a whole day! Anyway thought it might be because of the HDD so got an SSD (intel 520 series 180gb) and same stuff kept happening. Meanwhile the Sd card reader, the bluray drive stopped working... Sent to RMA and got replaced the parts (HDD, Motherboard, Speakers, Bluray) after it came fresh installed win 7 on the SSD and started getting random freezes while installing the drivers or just even searching for them...

2 weeks ago laptop got really hot, I mean really hot! I couldnt touch the keyboard even I had Zalman 3000 underneath the laptop, and I was just editing some photos in PS CS6. So I turned it off to cool down a bit, it didnt turn on... Time for another RMA, they replaced the motherboard and the pc came back, the freezes started again 1 hour ago..

PS: All drivers are up to date, latest bios, firmwares are on the latest. SSD is working fine with other desktops or laptops (tried it). The freezes happened with its own HDD (1TB 5400Rpm). Tried with crucial ram as well 2x 8Gb, same happens. So tried various things but it always kept happening. I dont know what to do... Any help will be appreciated, thanks,

Hi I have a similar problem with my N56VZ.
After installing windows 7 ( by default it comes with windows 8 ) it random freeze and if I un/plug the power cable it power off.
I sent the laptop to asus in warranty and they gave it back to me with exactly the same problem.
Did you have some luck and got it working? I'm becoming crazy.

    Regards,
    Franco

It might be high time for them to look at something else besides the board. The issue could be CPU related.
