Hi guys. I bought this very very nice laptop Asus N56VZ with a subwoofer included BUT it doesn`t work. My questions is should I see it as a registered device in the Audio settings (that screen with a room and the settings of the sound system, stereo, stereo + sub.. etc). Or should I do anything at all to make it work, because it doesn`t make a sound. Also anyone using Linux with this model because I tested both Win7Ult. and Ubuntu.. please if anyone know something. I can always call a replacement but in the store we tested with a subwoofer from another laptop and it didn`t work either.

    Thanks in advance,
    Alex

I had the same problem with the subwoofer not connecting, and it was because of a misaligned connection inside the chassis. Can you perhaps take a picture of the subwoofer connection hole?

Alex are you running a clean windows 7 install; or are you running the factory image? Have you removed any of the bloatware? It also could be a hardware issue with your laptop, if you can get a replacement without any extra fees; that is what i would ask for.
I am sure if you call ASUS they will tell you to do a factory restore

Actually it was a hardware issue of the chassis. Got a replacement now and the subwoofer is working fine but the touchpad has this small irritating sound when you tap it a little bit harder. Asus y u no better build QA ? :(((( Otherwise I`m in love with the design, hardware and the laptop in general.

Mine does work but it makes this annoying popping sound when playing music.
Also the laptop speakers crackle while playing music if i put them to max.
Anyone else have this problem or is this normal?
