Hi guys,
I have a N56VZ that I got from Amazon Warehouse deal. I popped a SSD in and (almost) everything is working swimmingly.
I'm running into a bit of trouble with the keyboard of the laptop though. First of all, my space key and backspace key are starting to squeak when I press them. Most of the noise seems to be form the release rather than from the press. Both keys still respond and bounce normally. Apparently this is a common problem with chiclet keyboards (this is the first one I own)? Is there a way for me to fix them?
Secondly, the part of the chassis (which is part of the overall aluminum chassis) between the V, B key and the space bar seems to be "bulging up;" it appears loose and is rising up, making the keys seem more shallow. The keys around the area all work fine, and are level with the rest of the keyboard. By turning up the LED keyboard light, and by pressing down the space bar, I can just barely see that it seems the double side tape that is supposed to glue the aluminum (chassis) part down is coming off. When I press on the chassis, I can also hear some "sticking" noise as the chassis slowly pop back up.
I kinda hope I can just use a toothpick and apply a little bit of glue and stick everything back together. The space is really tight thought, and preferably I would be able to remove some of the keys around the area, so I don't make a mess.
Is there a way to remove the chiclet keys without disassembling the whole laptop? This just seems like such trivial issue to send the laptop back to Asus for.
Thanks in advance!

Most likely the keyboard needs to be replace. it does required to send it in since keyboard is part of upper case ( C panel).
If you want to try remove the keys without disassembly you can check out this post here:

The bulging in between the keys sounds like mishandling, either from assembly or transit (I would lean more towards assembly, but you never know). You MIGHT be able to fix the keys per Gentech's link, though if the keyboard needs replaced, that will require the unit to be sent out. If it comes down to that, I would suggest notifying them of the abnormal protuberance in the chassis as well.

What I am surprised is that the top of the chassis is "glued" down by just using double-sided tape sort of adhesive. That just seems like an oversight in terms of quality.
I just apply pressure to pop the keys out? how about bigger keys like space bar? Are the keys similar to the MacBook keys in design?
