    Hello there,

first I wanna say Sorry if there is already a topic about this, but I could not find anything about it ....

I upgraded my n56vz to windows 8 Pro and everything is very good, but the keyboard drivers... I cant use the shortcuts(fn buttons) and its real pain...

Can someone tell me how to fix it ... I tried to install the drivers from Asus website for it (win8) it didn't work out for me, then I tried the win 7 drivers but the result remain the same.

    Can someone help me ?

    Regards,
    Martin

Do you have the ATK installed? I just did a clean install on my N56VZ and used the Windows 8 driver disc (since mine came with Win8 preinstalled) and the keys work fine.

I got my function keys to work after installing the ATK drivers found on the original driver disk. You can also grab them off Asus's website.

Everything is working for me except for the FN+F2 (wireless switch). I installed Wireless Console 3 v3.0.35, ATK package v1.0.0.023, and atheros wlan v1.0.0.077.

Also I am getting 1 unknown device: "ACPI\VEN_ATK&DEV_4001" I tried searching everywhere but could not find anything :(

Please if anyone has a fix I would really appreciate it

    For Windows 8:

Function Keys: ATK Package, Version 1.0.0024 (** Search "ATKPackage" from support.asus.com >> Download)
Fn+F2 (WiFi Key): ASUS Wireless Radio Control, Version 1.0.0.1 (** Search "ASUS Wireless Radio Control" from support.asus.com >> Download)

Thanks a lot ! This actually solved the fn+f2 and the unknown device problem.

Now my windows 8 is free of errors :)

I am just wondering, is there a version of Asus FaceLogon for Windows 8?

I assume you need the latest BIOS for ATK to work properly. Once the BIOS updates, they introduce an unknown device ATK4001 for the Fn+F2 key designed for the airplane mode for Win8.

Each and every recent ASUS laptops use the same ATKPackage, so it might worth a try.

My bios is updated. With atk 1.0.0024 icons keybord light and on/off touchpad are not present. There are present with 1.0.0020.

    My notebook is a N56VZ

I have reinstalled Win 8 after a factory reset with win 7. FN+F2 work. But icons of Vol+/-, Light +/- when I press the taste are icon default windows and not the icons of windows seven. This icons are installed from ATK package?
    Have you the same problem?

I have reinstalled from factory reset. Now is present Unknown device.

In Win8, reinstall "Wireless Radio Control (1.0.0.1)" AFTER "ATKPackage (1.0.0024)"

You mean you want the popup display instead of the default "Win8" OSD? If YES, after you install ATKPackage, there should be a desktop shortcut for the On Screen Display Settings. Use that to enable ASUS OSD.

In the future, if you happen to come across an "unknown" device driver, you can use a free utility to identify the device, making it easier to search for the driver. There are a few out there for free download.

What about turning off the bluetooth?
On Win7 with Fn+F2 I had a pop-up WiDi or something like that, where I could choose to turn off WiFi, Bluetooth or both on/off?
    Thanks

You should be able to do it by clicking on the wireless console icon on the taskbar.
