I have purchased a n61JV, and I am very pleased so far with the overall quality and its performance that it offers me. I have noticed on ASUS homepage that there are some updates for some parts of it, including BIOS.
Is it necessary to update these?
    thanks in advance

I only suggest updating the BIOS if you need to as there can be problems if not done correctly. Even though Asus makes the BIOS pretty easy to upgrade best rule of thumb is: If it's not broke, dont fix it :)

well as I said its functioning well and I can't see ant problems at all. Updating BIOS is pretty easy with ASUS, but then again I am not sure for what reason they have made the update available.
