I am debating on which laptop to buy, and I have come down to these two. I am hoping to have some questions answered:

    1. Which one will sound better with music? Even though the G73JW is more of a Gaming Machine and has a subwoofer, will its speakers be better for rock/classical or will that still belong to the N73JQ, which supposedly has music-designed speakers?

    2. From what I am reading, both computers are pretty quiet. So, how quiet is quiet? Are we talking fan unable to be heard when the music/gaming sounds are playing, or fans unable to be heard during e-mail/internet/office tasks?

    3. I am hoping to have this computer for 4-5 years. My gaming needs are not intense (Civ and Sims - type games), but I do not know how much that could change in a couple of years. Will the video card on the N73JQ be enough?

Any thoughts would be quite welcome. Thank you.

PS If any of you know alternatives outside of ASUS, that would be welcome as well.

    1. I have the N61Jq ( same as the 73, but lower res screen, and is cheaper ) and the quality is very good for music, and gaming too! Ofcourse the subwoofer will bring more immersion, but when you play, you almost don't care there is sound. And the best to sound is the N73Jq

    2. The fan ( in mine N61Jq ) is quiet as everything. I barely hear my fan spinning! I sometimes think if the laptop's fan is working... ( also great to be using the PC at night without your parents know... ;) )

    3. I play Civ 5 at max settings at around 50 FPS. and Crysis at 30-40 ( left column very high and right one is high, except post processing @ low ). I also will use lappy for 3-4 years! :D

I think the N73Jq is more suitable for you. But, if you don't care about res, get the N61Jq. Same specs, except res and price.
