Hi, I have one question wich bother me a while.

I have N73Jn, i3 370, nvida 335m optimus, 1 hdd 5400rpm - 500gb, when i open keyboard and start notebook i see that cpu cooler doesent spin, it is turn off but on the down right side in area of hdd i hear woosh sound like another went.
My friends told me that this is not the hdd sound and that there must be a second fan, i agree with that but there isnt any aditional exhaust.

Is it posible that this series of asus laptop had two fans?
Maybe from nvidia, if it is whay it work 24/7 if my notebook 99% of time use the intel graphic card.

I search on internet for this answer but couldnt find any, im desperet, so please help me. Thank You.

(Im asking becouse i wana know is this normal, and if the sound is from hdd i will replace it, if is from graphic card than I cant do much.)

Considering that this system is not a gaming version like the latest G-series, I would not think that ASUS has put two fans inside it. For this particular hardware I think there would be only one common fan for both CPU and GPU.

Probably it is the HDD chamber which is producing some resonance sound.
I had such an issue with my older ASUS M50Vm. There the HDD chamber was having some empty space on the top side where the hard disk spinning noise was amplified.
I used to hear woosh sound when sitting in a silent place and while the CPU fan was off. It was little bit annoying but there was not much I could do about it. :(

    Turbogear thanks a lot.

It will be great that this is the case and I truly belive it is, becouse of the same reasons you sad and I posted this question. I have a plan with the time to get SSD, and if this is HDD issue than sound must go away.

Eather way thank you for your replay.
