heres the info, i think this look ok, i still would rather wait for the DDR3 4650 version instead but for those that want the lower nm nvidia well....here it is!

A picture of your car? Well, here's the scoop from Engadget, anyway.

HAHAHA i made a huge mistake yeah i gotta edit that. I put that picture in Allfiredup birthday thread i must of messed up.
-
I'm dissappointed. I was hoping the the GT 120 would be more powerful then the 9650, its just a re badge. LAME!
-
lol, you beat me to the link to engadget
so yea, if i get the n81, im waiting on ATI i think... -
hmmm idk what to do. I don't want ati. Should I get the n80vn-x5 from newegg or the n81?
-
Well, regardless, i say might as well wait... and personally, i no longer advise newegg
But like I said, regardless, might as well wait and see what's up with the new ones... for all we know, the 120m will have gddr3, or there will be a 130m version -
what exactly is a GT 120m? Is it really a 9650m GT rebadge or is it something new altogether?
-
BUT, if it has Gddr3, im sure there will be some improvement
EDIT: research says the 120m = 9600GT and the 130m = 9650GT
Step down?! what the heck asus?! -
Seeing this makes me glad to be an early adopter. I was afraid that I would be screwed over like the people who bought the G50v with the 9700 GT.
-
Yeah... i'm going to have to say that i'm quite tired of Nvidia's domination of the midrange mobile graphics sector and can't wait for the HD 4670 to come out and kick some butt. Honestly, I think for the past 2 years almost Nvidia has just been renaming and slightly upgrading with the 8600, 9500, 9600, 9650, etc.
-
Dear god no!

16:9 screen!!!!!!
hmm, this sucks...
Well, Zepto a14 or MSI GT627 here i come! -
-
why is the 16:9 bad?
-
-
As a person who uses photoshop and autocad often, having a 4:3 is actually best... 16:10 i have been able to cope with, but 16:9 is too far... i will not buy a laptop with 16:9...
They lost be because of that.... -
ohhhhhhhh ok i got you. what do you have in mind now? I read your problem with newegg and it's pretty lame of them!
-
Alternatively, I can hope there was a 16:10 version for some reason -
nice msi laptop. Pretty well priced imo. To bad it wasn't a 14 or i would have jumped at it.
-
The zepto is PERFECT for me... but $400 more than i want to spend... It's sexy, good resolution, decent power... SEXY -
why not look at the n80-x5?
-
the 16:9 is another reason why I feel like I got a better laptop with the N50 over the N51/N81.
OK I'm gonna stop kicking myself now. -
-
Having said that, you need to take a good look at the fact that they went against their policy for you. Be grateful, and see things from a different perspective. -
They said that they would, with the n80, no longer instock, "we will send you a replacement with close specs or a refund", then "oops, we're repairing it, even though Asus told you to tell us that that should not be given as an option", then i was told they would refund it because they did not have a comparable model, then i was insulted ("Can you read?" by a rep who said that the other 2 reps lied. Then, the supervisor tells me that the quote from the chat logs saying "you will be given a replacement or a refund" the supervisor says that he was wrong. Then she refers me to the return policy, and she says "it says that we will repair it". I read it over, and it did not, i pointed this out, and she changed the subject.
Then, she had the audacity to say that as a courdicy she would refund less 15%...
I replied saying I had a laptop for all of 1 hr and it came defective, and you expect me to pay a restocking fee?!
Then after about 20 mins of me going on and on with the quotes of their promises, she finally gives it to me...
*note: really short meshed together happenings... Today alone i was talking to them for 2 hrs, about a hr yesterday too.
TIME LINE: (for those who need it):
28th - RMA, told i will get a replacement, i also told them that Asus said that it was not to be repaired, due to the nature of it.
1st? - Told that due to unavalibility, I will be given a refund or close replacement
Yesterday - Told it was "fixed" and will be sent back to me. (i called asus after this and they said that if i accept that laptop, i will not have a claim to accidental warrenty, and maybe not even the normal warrenty, and i was asked why i was letting newegg fix it rather than replace it).
Then, i contacted newegg, and was told that i should reply to a certain email, saying that i want a refund... and she said i'd get a refund.
Today - told that the other rep lied from the 1st? and yesterday, and then the whole chat fiasco happened above.
Also, one of my teachers (i did this during study hall [last hour] and after school) read over my shoulder and he said "what the f**k kind of screwy company is this? saying eachother lied?!"
so yea, newegg did nothing out of their way for me, please don't tell me to be greatful for me getting what i should have gotten...
EDIT: From their perspective, they were calling each other liers, discrediting Asus's technical knowledge and contradicting them selves, and saying that I "can't read" (which actually, it was funny, because i read it correctally and she read incorectally)
I'm sorry, i used to love newegg, but after this last chat session, i refuse to give them any money... ever... (unless the service gets back to how it used to be, which frankly, i will have no way of testing, so never buying from newegg again) -

also the battery life should be good the 4650 is also a 55nm another plus -
come on asus!
*crosses fingers hopelessly
EDIT: FYI, don't let my pessimisms detour any one from this computer! It's going to be great for the price!!!
i just personally need not 16:9 and/or a higher resolution, thats all -
