Hello, I have looked at the Asus N81Vp ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220510) as a possible laptop, but I am a bit weary about its temperatures.

In all the reviews, they say how well it is in regards to heat, but some places reach temperatures in excess of 100F ( http://www.legitreviews.com/article/935/3/). Isn't that a bit too hot for a laptop? Would I be more concerned with hardware failure or underclocking? The only reason I'm asking is because of Asus' well-known problems with the G50/G1 series and nVidia's bumps (I know this is Ati, but too much heat should be bad for anyone, right?)...

100F is fine. (unless ambient temperature is waaay below that)
its 100c that you should be concerned about.
(100F is near enough to body temperature that you should be barely able to feel the warmth)
