you all might have seen news of the new notebooks asus showcased/announced at CES 2008. well, i've been snooping around, and found that they updated their global site with all of the upcoming notebooks: http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=5&l2=23

with that said, i have a few questions. the U3Sg is listed to have the NVIDIA GeForce 9300M G, does anyone have any info of how well it [the video card] does? compared to the 8600m gt? how about the NVIDIA GeForce 9500M GS found in the F8sn. those are the notebook i'm interested, after being disappointed by the battery life of the F8sv. does anyone have any idea when they might become available in the states? its either this or getting the dell xps m1530.

Edit: i found some more info on the f8s refreshes: http://translate.google.com/transla...ct=result&prev=/search?q=asus+U3Sg&hl=en&sa=G
    enjoy

Very nice find, wow, looks interesting. The 9xxx series hasn't even been officially announced, but considering AMD has done so with the HD36xx series....

    More finds:

    The 9500 won't be DX10.1?

Looks like the 9300/9400/9500 only are remasterised G84. The 9600/9800 wil be DX10.1, based on the G92 core though

9500gs actually uses the g84 core too,,just like the 8600gt,,so it won't support the dx10.1
btw the 9600 won't support dx10.1 too..cause the nv think directx10.1 is not used in the game yet..the first nv dx10.1 supporting core should be G100,,

You are sure about the 9600/9800?

DX10.1 new features are only mandatory & free 4xAA + better image/perf control on the shaders, no need for new architecture.

    EDIT: http://www.guru3d.com/newsitem.php?id=6180

Looks like the 9600/9800 won't be based on the G92 core in the end.

i am sure about the 9600 and 9800gx2,,Tomshardware's taiwan department has received the 9600(G94) sample card,,and said 9600 won't support the 10.1
and 9800gx2 is made from two G92,,so it can not support 10.1
