Hello Everyone
please see this link to participate in petitioning Asus to update their Bios' with overclocking features similar to their desktop motherboards.
http://vip.asus.com/forum/view.aspx...board_id=3&model=M50SV&page=1&SLanguage=en-us
this requires you to log into Asus forums and simply reply to my post with a cheer and support in your own words.
please take this seriously, with enough posts we can get asus to change their policies.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

A worthy cause, but one I don't see going anywhere with ASUS policies.
With the tight constraints of laptops, most manufacturers wouldn't be excited about letting users fry their boards and chips and then trying to claim warranty service. -
+1, signed

I'd like to start a petition that Asus lets us underclock the components and force max speeds on fans. I'm idling at 75 Celsius for my 8600M GT, and the fan's barely spinning.

Sounds like you have one of nvidia's defective chips.

ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
Asus is a global corporation. You'd need literally thousands upon thousands of sigs (sadly) before anyone is likely to care, and it's never been clear that the customer service/tech support arm has any input to the corporate decision makers.
Still, good luck I guess. And yes, please don't cross-post. -
(the other thread on the same topic has been deleted)

that assumes that its even possible to fry hardware with decent overclocking features, which is REALLY hard to do actually.
please show your support, even in doubt? what do we have to lose??
but only gain, things like fan controls
fsb adjustments
cpu multiplier adjustments
cpu/chipset voltage adjustments
and custom profiles like their desktop variants -
Not really.
And I still don't see it happening, even with thousands of signatures. High-end laptops, maybe, but not consumer level. -
ever the pessimist...

No, I'm a Realist.

wanna login to asus forum then and give yer vote please?
