I have a port replicator at work which I plop my Toshiba into when I'm in the office. It has lan/power/ps2/usb ports. I like it alot.

Now that I'm replacing my Portege 4000 with a W7J, what types of "external expansion" options are there?

on since we are on the topic of port replicators, is there one for the w2j? I dont really see how they could bc there are no ports on the back, um a side one would be indeed odd.

There are, but they're of dubious usefulness. The problem is, even USB2 doesn't have the bandwidth required for video.

right- video needs at least 500mbps.. whats USB2? 400+mbps? they probably all lag..

But sans video? I wonder if lan/ps2 perform well... and if they exist with dc-in.

usb port replicators really stink, especially if you're looking for something that has a vga port on it...

Let me make it easier..... right now there aren't many notebooks that support Asus' port bar 3, but the Z62 series, Z and S96 series, and the old Z70 series and Z61 series... that's about it for now.
