So many of us have the power4gear utility and some even have a button to activate Turbo mode. Is there some way a utility could be built to edit the settings of this program so it will overclock higher than 50-100mhz? I understand the risks associated with this, but I just think it would be very convenient to be able to use power4gear instead of setFSB since power4gear is so integrated with many of the Asus laptops. If I had the skills or knowledge for programming I would try this myself, but instead I'm asking if it is even possible. Is this something anyone besides me would use? Your thoughts...

I dont think anyone would even bother doing that, since SetFsb has G73JH support and it works really well to overclock with it.
-
SetfSB costs money though to overclock with G73 ;(
-
Yeah, a whole whopping $5.66 at current Yen to USD conversion

Sorry to be stubborn, but has anyone looked at the difference between Power4gear on G73's and UL30/50/80's? The UL30vt gets a 33% overclock boost to that tiny little SU7300. Why can't we change the percentage of boost for G73's?
I'd be willing to bet that if I new more of what I was talking about I'd know this was a stupid question, but I just can't help asking. It seems like such a waste of a program to have it only overclock 5%. -
Those Power4gear programs are usually just linked to whatever is in the bios IRC .. I was hoping for something similar back when i had the W90 because the Qx9300 had only 3 or 5% OC meanwhile the Q9000 got 15% or more...
So yeah in the end you are much better going with Setfsb for $6.00 vs trying to disassemble the P4G or have someone create a new bios... -
Also, the su7300 is a cheap chip. If one gets through QC that doesn't support the 33% OC, it's really, REALLY cheap to replace.
Car Analogy: Getting an extra 33% out of your small 4-banger civic isn't nearly so hard as getting an extra 33% out of your 1965 v8 mustang. -
I thought it was a dumb question, now I know. Thanks for dealing patiently with me. I'll stick with setFSB.
