I'm completely shocked to find nothing here on the Asus Forum about the Asus Q200E 11.6" Touchscreen notebook that I purchased today at Best Buy for $500. And yes, I know it's going to be $449 on Black Friday, but it's worth $50 to not have to stand in line for hours this Friday![]()
Anyway, I'm curious about this little machine, as it isn't listed on the Asus USA website and there's not much else online about it other than some basic specs and availability info. I'm assuming this notebook was built especially for Best Buy, since a search for Asus 11.6" Touchscreen on Amazon turned up a close relative, the ASUS VivoBook X202E-DH31T, which has a 3rd gen faster processor along with Bluetooth, but most of the other specs are similar. I'm just a little concerned about the corners that had to be cut in order for Best Buy to be selling this laptop for under $500.
It doesn't appear at first glance that the memory is expandable beyond the stock 4GB. If possible I would like to be able to add Bluetooth functionality if it's just a matter of swapping out a card.
It is definitely a slick little semi-ultrabook. I'm looking forward to playing around with it and hearing from other Q200E owners about their experience with it, both positive and negative.

Hello Zoofer!
I am thinking about purchasing this notebook at Best Buy and, while doing a Google search, came across your post. I just read something that may answer your question. This model of this computer is one that is ONLY sold at Best Buy and is made for Best Buy. Asus has another model just like it, but it has a different model number and I believe it has a different processor (a newer one). That's probably why you can't find much on this certain model number.
I'm really curious how you like the device and how the battery life is.
I just bought a Chromebook (never had one before) and I don't think it is going to work out for what I need. The whole Google Chrome browser thing is really different. I don't want to spend a lot and would like something really small, which is why I am looking at this Asus. When I saw it at Best Buy recently I fell in love with the built-in touch screen.
Thanks, and take care!

That is correct. The x202 is the versions sold elsewhere and it has a 3rd gen core i3 with HD4000 graphics. Otherwise it's the same.
I actually just ordered the x202. I took a bit of a chance as I was going to order an Acer with a 3rd gen core i5, but read some reviews on Asus build quality and with it instead. I am a little concerned with not being able to upgrade the RAM or battery though... Now just need to find a case. -
Microsoft store is selling the ASUS X202e for $499. Has bluetooth and an i3 processor. I'm not sure if the CPU is 2nd or 3rd gen. They only give the version no. of Intel Core i3-3217U 1.80 GHz.

Nice bonus that the latest Best Buuy Q200E-BSI3T08 model finally has the 3rd gen CPU now! :hi2:
I upgraded to SSD and added nicer wifi/bluetooth like this.

Overall now I love these little machines... SSD = the way to go!
