I have a Asus Q550L. It was purchased based on specs and features that I wanted and at the right price point. This is now the 4th system of the same model I have had. They all have had the same issue with the track pad moving when my finger is still and clicking on its own. I have tried to update and reinstall the driver.

After trying to chat online with ASUS and getting no where, I tried calling and still nothing. All I was told that it was probably an interference issue. I was instructed to do a power cycle by holding down the power button for around 30 seconds. That did not work.

Now the only thing I am being told is "Take it to a service center." I took it to Best Buy since they are a certified service center. They checked the power and the voltage and nothing came back wrong. They also checked the updates and the registry to see if something was going on there. Again, they found nothing

Hopefully I will be able to get some help.

Sure you don't have Parkinson? The clickpad does suck, heavily. One of the most annoying points is when trying to click, it still detects finger movement. That said... 4 laptops and they all click on their own? sounds like you are just tapping on the pad while you are moving it.

Well it looks like the video did not load. I have several videos that clearly show me keeping my finger still on the track pad and the cursor is still moving. The only reason why I moved my finger was to bring it back to where the cursor could be seen.

you are trying to move the cursor with 2 fingers on the clickpad? Keep in mind the pad has no buttons, the lower part of the pad is still considered touchpad territory.

While I can't simulate the arrow behavior on my clickpad, I have also adjusted and disabled a lot of gestures in order to keep it from doing things I don't want to do (for instance, zooming web pages when I accidently move the cursor while my thumb was still resting on the button area). In fact if I try and move the mouse using 2 fingers, nothing happens. Try disabling alot of the gestures in the asus smart gesture program and start from there.

I only have one finger on the pad even though it looks like two. I use some of the gestures just to make it easier to switch from window to window.

It's really frustrating when you buy a new computer and it has these kinds of issues and so do the other ones you exchange it for.

I dont recall anyone posting with this issue in the main thread, and when you say you went through 4 laptops with the same issue, I can only think it is something on your end, maybe something you are running.
