    Asus Q550LF 1tb HDD to 512 SSD

    I just bought a 512SSD from Amazon. I also have a disc copy of Win 7 Ultimate. Can I just swap the drives, then reboot with the Win 7 cd in the bay?

    That seems way over simplistic for things I've read. I'm not a novice, but I'm not an expert by far!

    What else do I need to consider here?

    You can swap the discs and then put a fresh copy of windows on with your disc key, the OEM key may only work with the version created with restore disks.
