This is about ASUS US not Europe

Anyhow ive had a Asus F3JP for just a little over 2 years (My original review thread from 2007 http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=101851)

Over the course of me being in the army and being in iraq from 2007-2008 the laptop served me well albeit with the following issues

    1. LCD started getting bad light bleedthrough on top
    2. LCD and plastic on side of LCD was coming apart literally
    3. DVD drive up and died, refused to read 90% of any of my media
    4. F11 key fell off
    5. CPU fan made a horrifying flesh gratting bone breaking noise whenever laptop was turned on...sounded like the ballbearings were coming loose

Since i got my laptop on 29 January 2007 from newegg my warranty was good till 29 January 2009. The RMA process was confusing since even though i updated my personal info a week prior to calling in the service rep read back to me old info.

I got an email with the RMA number to track the repair process and sent the bad boy in...and then nothing. Waited for 2 more days on an email confirmation of sorts got nothing, logged online and saw laptop was "under repairs" next day said ready for shipping..Got excited called asus lady couldnt tell me how long before shipping. Next day laptop got overnighted to me (they never did email me or update the status telling me the laptop was fixed and or was on its way)

Laptop sent on the 27th of January. Back from repairs on the 4th of February. They even re-bubble wrapped all my items and sent a list of things that got fixed.. They completly replaced the LCD, replaced the keyboard and top of laptop, replaced CPU fan, and DVD drive. Laptop looks like the 1st day that i bought it. I wanted to share this in order for people to know that Asus has an awesome warranty on their products. This laptop has eaten more sand in iraq and been dropped, kicked and stepped on beyond abuse, still ran just fine. Definately cant wait to get another one..once the tax rebates come back.

FYI I live in Virginia, U.S. laptop was sent to Indiana U.S. for service repairs.

You forgot to mention in your post that you are talking about ASUS US. Without that, all of us with problems in europe will look like morons for the next Asus buyer.

Yeah, if they'd only remember that they have customers in Europe too ;)
I mean, why so dramatic difference in RMA's ? The asus warranty repair -thread speaks for itself.. the amount of good companies having worst customer service baffles me. A good product is ALWAYS ruined by the treatment you get.
