I just got my A8Js in the mail...

I intend to format it right off the get go. However, is the Recovery CD a proper OS CD? Or do I need to do the whole dance where I need to protect partitions on the hard drive etc....

Also, will the Recovery CD reinstall all the bloat ware?

    Thanks.

The recovery CD is not an OS disc, its a, recovery disc, it has all the necessities of a full install. It will give you 3 options for partitioning, reformat c: and d:, reformat c: only, and reformat c: and d: to a single c: drive.

The progams(aka Bloatware in your terms, most are actually useful like P4G though Norton and the wireless programs - they have 4 different ones for WiFi and BT, how does that work? - are an obvious uninstall).

for reformatting my w3j.. just put in recovery discs.. when they ask for the "driver cd" press ctrl-alt-del... and it will restart going into windows installation.. and you won't have any "bloatware"

Very interesting. Has anyone else tried this method?

edit: going this route, were you able to specify partitons ect.. like with a standard xp install?

u select your partitions when u place your replacement CD in..

i chose reformat onto single drive.. then after installation of windows.. go to the NTFS converter in your windows folder to convert to ntfs.

ya.. its same thing as any other recovery process.. just you don't install the drivers.. and you install them manually after windows is done..
