After months and months of deciding, I have finally seen the laptop I wish to purchase, the Asus W3V. Now the question is, where do I buy it from?

Right now I'm looking at Canada Computers, but their website says there are none in stock right now. I assume there will be a few on Friday morning at the showcase, but still would like to find out if anywhere else has a better deal.

    I appreciate the help.

Actually, while we're at it, one beef I have with the W3V is the screen resolution, it's a bit low. Will there be a newer model, similar (or exact [ :p] ) to this with SXGA? I tried looking through the other thread but am confused with all the model numbers floating around. But like someone mentioned there, I don't want to purchase something now only to see something better in two weeks.

The W3V will not get WSXGA+... WXGA on a 14" widescreen is quite ideal already. I think WSXGA+ would be overkill for many, and impractical for ASUS to produce a model that only a handful of people would be interested in buying.

So to answer your question, no, ASUS will not produce a WSXGA+ model [ :(]
If you want more resolution, try the V6V [|)]

I've also been looking around, but none of the resellers have it out yet.

Maybe in a few weeks, or email the other resellers, like CanadaSys, Pacific Notebooks, etc.

Agreed... considering the W3V just made it into the states not too long ago, it should take a few weeks for the W3V to make its presence into Canada.
    Patience, my friends...[ :D]

    Hi,

I just got a new Asus V6 and I'll posting my comments soon, but I want to comment on a dealer as finding a good one in Canada and (Vancouver especially) isn't easy. I bought it from New Type Computers (http://www.ntcw.com) and couldn't be happier with the service, speed, price and professionalism. If you're thinking of getting one (and they have all models in stock) I highly recommend them ! Also, you should call or email them for the latest price, because the website isn't always accurate (and you might be pleasantly surprised !)

Check the ASUS site for the list of Canadian retailers

The ones I look at are pacific notebooks, canada sys, pccom and CC.

    I would highly suggest NCIX.com.
They're definitely a top PC/Notebook retailer for all of Canada. Lowest prices I've seen too.

Another one I found selling Asus notebooks was Anitec.ca.
