    Hi,

I recently bought an Asus s400ca notebook, the touch screen vivobook type. I read lots of reviews before hand saying it ran silently. However, on mine the fan seems to always be coming on when it shouldn't need to.

I have updated to windows 8.1, updated all the drivers and even the bios. Yet the fan still comes on even when browsing the web. It's not particularly noisy but can be irritating in a quiet room. I wondered if there was any software of processes that were making it come on more then necessary?

I have used hwinfo to check temps and they don't seem too high. The fan even comes on as soon as I click start on a youtube video, surely that shouldn't be that intensive. It does it almost in anticipation of events rather then because the system is hot.
