    Asus S46cm bios password forgotten

    hello every one
    i have a big problem with an asus S46cm, i have set a password for the bios, and i forget it (and lost the paper where it was writen)
    i don't know what to do now since the HDD crached, and i can't do anything to recover the laptop

    does any one has any solution for me, flashing again the bios with a USB stick ?, or anything else.
    pleas help me

    You can try disconnecting the CMOS battery and other power sources to see if the password can be reset or not. If not, then the BIOS needs to be reprogrammed.
    For HDD, you can take it out and then connect it to another system to see if the data can be retrieved or not. If not, then you have to check with a professional data recovery lab as this may cost $1500+ for data recovery.

    data was backed so don't have problem with that
    but i wan't to use the laptop again, but i can't install any OS since i can't access to the bios to set booting option :(
    how can i reprogram the Bios ? do you have any link where i can find the steps ?

    If the password cannot be erased through disconnection of CMOS battery then the password might be hardcoded into the BIOS.
    Then, you will have to desolder the BIOS chip and reprogram it using a BIOS programming machine, and most likely only ASUS can do it.

    so i have no chance to resolve it alone :(
    will call asus next week and pay for solving the issue if no one bring a solution before.

    Have you tried to locate the battery in the system?
    The CMOS battery is connected to the mainboard so you can try to find it to disconnect it in order to clear it.
    At least try to do this before calling and it may save you time and money.
