They seemed pretty impressed although short battery life was a concern.

I bought the m5n here in Canada about a month ago. My initial impression is very positive. I have a Centrino 1.6, 512 RAM, Hitachi 80G 7200RPM, and it runs just great. Since I was able to buy it without an OS, I was able to save about $500 as compared to similar machined from Toshiba, Sony, Panasonic. The only issue I see is the battery life with the smallest battery, I am only able to get about 2:10... but I am looking forward to upgrading to the bigger battery.

The overall build quality is excellent, The carbon fibre frame is very rigid asnd seems great and the overall look is very nice and it always gets looks when I pull it out. Performance with XP is very good and it can easily handle running large Matlab calculations, Photoshop and Office with not problems. Of course, it is not so great for gaming since it has integrated video, but I dont play too many games on this 12" book. The M5N has a built in CDRW/DVD which makes it slightly thicker and heavier then the S5N. Note that in North America, S5N comes with ULV 1GHz, and is not upgradeable, whereas the M5N comes with Centino 1.4-1.7GHz and with DDR333 Ram and is ready for Dothan when Intel releases it.

Anyhow, overall the performance and build quality are very good but battery life is less then ideal. I recommend getting the bigger battery if you can find it.
