I own an Asus vivobook s500ca and I've had it for about a few months and have been somewhat satisfied with it. The reason is because I've had this one issue that's been bothering me since the day after I got it and after installing windows 8.1. The thing is that my laptop randomly shuts itself off with no warning whatsoever and I have to turn it back on. So far I've done everything I can to prevent it from happening. I've updated the drivers, checked for clashing audio drivers, checked if it's been overheating, although I'm unsure if that's the problem. I even sent it in to geek squad where they replaced the motherboard a couple weeks ago, but no avail as of today. I'll also state that it's only occurred while it's plugged in from what I've witnessed and all are recorded as event 41's. I have a log of the most recent occurence from today.

Right now I'm thinking it may be the HDD because I've checked it's condition using hd tuner pro and hdd scan and both have reallocated event count marked as warning. But not for speedfan, crystaldiskinfo, and seatools for windows. But I'm deeply considering on sending it to asus themselves for a replacement of either the hdd or the laptop itself. Otherwise, I really need help on making sure it never happens again.
