I can't find this discussed anywhere. Is it a good buy? I'm looking for a 14" Santa Rosa barebone with low end graphics (I have a gaming pc already). I was going to wait for the Compal IFT00 or IFT01, but this barebone seems to fit everything I need. Is it worth waiting for the Compal or should I get this?

Well that has integrated graphics so it's not really for any kind of gaming other than older games....depending on your view of acceptable frame rates. Also, for the price, less even, you could get a Thinkpad (or many other brands) with the same specs. IMO, there's nothing special about the Asus whitebook build quality to justify a premium.

I don't care about graphics though because I won't play any games. I just want a longer battery life. Can you recommend me any other 14" Santa Rosa barebones? I priced this one out to $1020 with some good specs which is a very reasonable price. I mean is there anything bad about this barebone?

I got one of those.. and having difficulties in installing windows. Seems like the barebone will work with Vista.

I haven't try to reformat my drive from myZ84j just do a repair windows and it doesn' t seem to boot to windows after repair.

Otherwise, I'd recommend the 13" S37S because the look is sexier . S62E is just plain average look
