Asus S6Fm Question

Hello all,

Does anyone know if the Asus S6Fm is available without the leather trim? I know that the original S6F comes in both leather and plastic-only versions, but I want the Core 2 Duo CPU available with the newer S6Fm.

Failing that, anyone know when the U1 might be available with a Core 2 Duo?

Yes, it does come without the leather trip. It's actually much cheaper that way.

The U1F came out right before the LV/ULV C2D procs entered the market. It may be refreshed soon, but considering that Santa Rosa's release is near, I think it will just skip over it.

 

I haven't seen any S6Fms without the leather option actually, where did you see it Gautam? I have only seen the older non-leather S6Fs.

And I know I have also been thinking of the Core 2 Duo ULVs, but really now, they aren't that great. They actually draw a little more power than the Core Duo ULVs, have the same amount of cache and do you really need 64-bit computing in an ultraportable? I could be wrong.

 

Thanks, Gautam. Any idea where I could find one? I've seen the S6Fm for sale a few places with the leather, and the older S6F available without the leather, but I haven't been able to find the S6Fm without leather!

I'm new to the forum, but I'll be sure to post my thoughts on this laptop if I can find it.

 

Never mind guys, I had no clue there was a difference between the S6F and the S6Fm...so I have not clue if the newer one comes without a leather trim. I'll do a search for it anyway, though.
