    Asus SRS driver VS realtek driver

    any advantage to running the SRS driver vs the realtek driver?

    Probably about the same as the EAX software on the G73s, its mostly just so they can put another sticker on the laptop and a bullet on the spec sheet.

    They both simply do software emulation of effects to make the audio sound different. IMO its waste I am only running the realtek drivers on my G73 and I still get all the environment effects when play games, such as echos etc.

    The good thing about the SRS driver is that you can get full 5.1 virtual surround sound when using headphones. Works incredibly well too.

    I can attest to the SRS driver improving my sound by quite a bit, both with headphones or external speakers attached.
