    Hey guys

My asus security (my identity) seems to be having problems. When I swipe my fingerprint, nothing happens and when I try to log on through programs > Asus security > my identity, it goes to loading and nothing happens. I then close the program due to it taking forever to load and get the error message. Whats the problem here? What is the startup for this program? Is it DMedia or Asus Screen saver protector or Asus Camera Screensaver? I am not sure why its not working :(

So I figured out it was due to my Global Virtual Car Host. This was another post from me if anyone can help me out that would be great. I am sure im not the ONLY one experiencing a problem:

    Hey all,

I have a fingerprint reader for my Asus computer and they use a program called Asus Security that creates an Identity. You swipe your fingerprint and it will open up your identity and there you have all your passwords stored for websites and also your address for a quick form fill out. Lately this program has not been working for me. I can still swipe my fingerprint to log into windows, I just cant use this program to access my identity. When I try to get to my identity with a fingerprint swipe or a password, the program gets a (Not Responding) thingy then I close it and it says 'Global Virtual Card Host failed' then it will say ' 'The remote procedure call failed'.

I am not sure what to do to fix this problem. Anyone have a clue?

So I hear from people with HP that they had to upgrade their BIOS to fix the Global Virtual Card host problem. I checked with Asus and there is a BIOS update on March 24th 2008. I got my laptop before that. Does this mean I should upgrade my BIOS by downloading the file? I am not sure how to really do it as im not really a computer whiz.

There are two method to do it,

First method by doing in BIOS:

first, download the bios fimeware save it in a USB key.

second, bootup your laptop and go into the BIOS by pressing F2 in the bootup screen

third, Selete Advanced tap, you will see the following Option under Advanced tap.
IDE Config, Start Eary Flash, Internal Pointing, Futurnal numicic, Play Post, Speaker Volume.

Select Start Easy Flash, then press ok

After, it will auto restart and bootup to start easy flash program. Follow the screen, choose where the USB drive with the BIOS fimeware is. Then start flash BIOS.

Reboot the system. Assuming that you have successfully flashed the BIOS file, press F2 to enter BIOS setup page when the ASUS logo appears during system bootup

After entering BIOS setup page, go to Exit page and choose Load Manufacture Defaults. Then select Save and Exit and reboot the system again.

The Bios Flash Procedure is now complete.

Second method, do it in windows

You can use the Utility that came with your Notebook CD.

Is called WinFlash, what you need to do is:

First, extract the BIOS file to a temporary location (such as the root in C:\)

Second, Click Start | All Programs | Asus Utility | Winflash | Winflash

Select the new Bios image file

Confirm the selected BIOS information. Check the model, version, and data

Click Flash to initialize the BIOS updating procedure

    Click Exit when procedure completes

Reboot the system. Assuming that you have successfully flashed the BIOS file, press F2 to enter BIOS setup page when the ASUS logo appears during system bootup

After entering BIOS setup page, go to Exit page and choose Load Manufacture Defaults. Then select Save and Exit and reboot the system again.

The Bios Flash Procedure is now complete.

Damnit, I updated my bios and still getting the Golden Virtual Card host problem. :( I can run my fingerprint login when I log into Windows, but not when I am already in windows. ****
