    hi guys,

im not totally satisfied with the color balance of my g73jh, so i tried adjusting the gammas, contrasts and so on with the ccc, adobe gamma and powerstrip, but havent found really concinving solutions so far. then i tested the splendid utility which is on the driver disk: it provides 5 predefined profiles, the "theater" profile is the best i could get so far, better than all my selfmade ones with the progs mentioned above. the issue though is that it is slightly too yellow.... something in between "normal" and "theater" would be perfect for me.

the problem though is: the "my profile" option in splendid utility doesnt work for me, when i click on it, there are no adjustment bars shown for gamma, contrast and so on. only the lines are there, but the bars for actually doing the adjustments are missing.

therefore i´d like to ask 3 things:

if u own a g73jh and got the splendid utility installed - can u use the my profile option in it?
does any1 know how to make me able to use it? ie, do u know how to fix the problem described above?
and last but not least: do u know which color profile names are corresponding to e.g. normal and theater? in the splendid folder, there are some 60 color profiles, so checking through all of them would be really tedious.

im asking because if i know the name of that file, i can use adobe gamma loader to load it after each restart, which would be much more convenient than using the actual splendid for this purpose.

thanks in advance for any helpful answers^^

Black Gun, Mine seems to work. I click on my profile, then a submenu pops up see attached, and I can move the 3 color sliders or change base on menu. Then I can click the save button and my profile flashes on the screen.
When I reboot my profile persists. The only thing I can think of is to reinstall the program if you do not have these options. BTW I do not see a help screen for this app --- Whew.
In programs- ASUS Utility-ASUS Splendid Utility-I see an icon called 'Splendid compatibility utility'
I did not have to use this to get this to work, it MAY be worth a try???
Also you may have gotten more responses if you posted in the ASUS gaming notebook forum most of the G73 stuff was moved there recently. Good luck with your system, Josea

here is how it looks for me:

the compatibility utility didnt help either, nor did reinstalling. i posted it in the general asus forum because it is a general asus software related problem and nothing which has to do with the g73 in particular.

    thx for ur answer though.

Black Gun, I looked at an old post (2007) and this could be a conflict with Catalyst Control Center. I disabled catalyst control center a long time ago with MSconfig - startup tab. Wild guess here.
Also are you on all stock video drivers and CCC version (as I am)?

Anyone know how to change the settings of the preset modes like theatre and gamma? I'd like to change the brightness in particular and the hotkeys aren't sufficient.

Also, anyone know how this works with the brightness setting of pwer4gear?
