Can I? Should I? Peel off those Asus stickers. The:
- HD vision one
- multimedia touchpad one'
- square one displaying everything I already know about my system
Sometimes I actually like them, sometimes I don't.![]()
Any bad experiences... ie. some of it not coming off completely? the surface getting sticky?
I obviously don't mean the intel, dolby, vista, and nvidia badges, those can stay![]()

I took them off with a razor edge.. might not be the best idea, but I was very careful. The remaining glue came off with some rubbing alcohol and a rag. I use a razor to keep the stickers intact for resale time. I stick them on the bottom of my icemat mouse surface for safe keeping
-
Razor? Edge?... forget it
-
I have removed all those stickers too... You do not need to use any tool. Just peel off one corner with your finger nail and then pull gently until you remove it all.
There will be some residue of adhesive (albeit very little) which can easily be removed with cotton+alcohol.
I only have the "Centrino 2" Sticker left. The rest are in the trash...

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. But I'm also considering the resale value, I guess I'll store them on a hard cover? decisions...

hair dryer.... they come off clean

Obviously make sure to do this with the computer off... so that it doesn't get pwnt by the electromagnetic field created by the dryer motor. -
I don't think it will add anything to its resale value (well, at least for professionals...).
I am only interested in the actual hardware inside. I don't care about whatever is written on the case...

Only peel them off if it's bothering you. It's very easy to do so and i'd go with the hair dryer method. Any residue that's left can easily be removed with a damp microfiber cloth or double-sided tape.
Altering anything from original factory settings/customizations will more or less affect the resale value. Most people will prefer technology in its original condition, even if it means they have to pay a little bit more. -
I rock the "clean" look lol....no stickers.
No need for all the extra toools...good ol' fingernail and they come right offf....mine diddnt leave any goo so =)
And this will def not diminish resale value. -
That's correct if you purchase Vista for the "Aero" interface...

Everybody knows each sticker adds 20 MFLOPS
Just like... I have 20 aftermarket stickers on my civic, each adds 5+ HP to the WHEELS!!1
-
I'm only saying this from my experience as a powerseller on ebay. The majority of people are not like us whom would care less about an extra sticker or two, but the average consumer will almost always prefer a product that is as close to factory condition as possible.
-
Sounds very interesting to me
Perhaps I should have kept my stickers

Definitely. Everyone knows stickers makes anything go faster. Especially here in Vancouver.
For the record, I left all the stickers on except for the butt ugly AITD one, just so the casual noob is wowed. Besides it being ugly, it also says 9700GT, so that is a no-no. -
stickers gone...good riddance I say. My N80 looks infinitely better without them. Fingernail FTW. Not anal enough to actually keep them.
-
How does it look? Plain?
-
re: Vancouver -- it's funny because it's true! it's different here. stickers make everything go faster. lol.
you know, i don't mind the stickers. i use a BT keyboard + mouse most of the time anyway, so i don't think they'll wear and get ugly. -
Took them off, it's much sexier now
put the stickers on a plasticish-cardboard box (maintain it's stickyness, and pealoffability) just incase.
win/win -- thx ppl
