I recently bought Taichi 31 and I really loved it
but after Window 8.1 update, the tablet and dual monitor mode are not working.
I did some google search and tried almost everything I could do.
    so I contacted Asus customer service about this issue and they got back to me with;

'For the problem, I suggest you to uninstall Close Lid,ATK,VGA first and then download Close Lid,ATK,VGA. Please install them according to the sequence.

    Close Lid
ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download TAICHI31

    ATKACPI driver and hotkey-related utilities
ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download TAICHI31

    Intel Graphics Driver
ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download TAICHI31

Global (DLM) Global P2P Please click on "global" and unzip the files and then install the "setup.exe".

These are basically just same thing as what I spent almost a week to fix this problem but I had a hope that the installing sequence might be critical.
so I tried once again but still it didn't make any change..

Anyone have a clear solution for this Taichi screen issue?

    Thank you.

I have the same problem. All started after the windows 8.1 update, before (running w8.1) the back screen was working OK. Did you make any progress meanwhile?

I have the same problem. After the runaround trying to install drivers and refreshing the notebook back to windows 8, and then having more issues I finally contacted the taichi/vip support hotline (number is on the little black card that came in the box) They went through the steps with me one more time over the phone with no luck, they informed me that there is no fix for the issues that come from the 8.1 upgrade, and the only way to use the laptop is with windows 8 until they fix the issues (estimated time-frame was 2 months for new drivers). I ended up getting an RMA to have them fix mine.

Hi everyone, the only thing you need to solve the problem is to install the latest BIOS using winflash utility.
The latest BIOS for Taichi31 can be found here: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download TAICHI31
There you have to select OS: Windows 8.1 64 bits.
Then, in BIOS menu, download the version 209 (global) and reflash your Taichi31 with this new version using winflash.
Automatically your touch screen starts to work right. :) :)
    Best regards

When I upgraded to Win 8.1, I had the same problem and your solution worked. Thanks! But later I upgraded to Windows 10, and the dual screen function was lost again. Then I downgraded to Windows 8.1 again and the outside display was upside down. I downloaded BIOS 209 as you instructed, and ran WinFlash --- and got this message: "WARNING: The BIOS file is older than the current version. Click [Exit] to exit." So how do I get around this problem? I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks again.
