Sent my G73JH in for repair (crackling sound) and got it returned two weeks later with same problem PLUS no keyboard backlighting and occasional lockups. I want to talke to 2nd level/ Supervisor to ensure that this gets resolved definitively next go around, and expedited. I've requested to speak with Supe and they said I would be receiving a call back shortly. One week later still no call. I've called past couple days and requested a transfer rather than a call back. They initiate a transfer (so I believe) and the phone rings and rings for 20 min. I hang up and repeat the process. Another 15 min of ringing and I hang up again. I spent all day clicking "live chat" link on their support site and it times out all day! I literally re-initiated the chat request for more than an two hours and every time it just timed out before anyone answered. I filled out the online tech support request form yesterday morning and 48hrs later no response to that either...

What do you have to do to get a little 'tech support' around here!? Does anyone have some tricks to getting through or noticed? Any secret numbers to call, emails to contact???

I found that I got the best support using the on-line chat.

For the keyboard backlight, try removing the keyboard and flipping the small ribbon cable (during my RMA they installed it upside down).

For the crackling sound (which i have as well), try uninstalling the Realtek audio driver and using the default Windows driver. With the second "Speakers" device disabled in the Playback Devices control panel, I don't get any crackling (but there are side effects like weak volume and inability to mute completely).

If you purchased your Asus from a reputable reseller, try contacting them directly to help set up a RMA.

I can always get low level tech by phone within minutes of the call, and they are happy to set up an RMA on my behalf but I want reassurance that I will not get the computer back two weeks later STILL NOT WORKING PROPERLY. My hope was that a 2nd level tech or so-called supervisor might offer expedited shipping and repair, and a guarantee it will get done right once and for all.

I did flip the ribbon over and keyboard lights still out. What suddenly is the computer freezing up when it had never done so before until recent "repair"...
