So I have less than a week with it and I noticed the DVD drive does not close fully, and it its hit by an angle (where that gap is...) I fear the DVD drive will break.....

Is this recall worthy? or Am I just exaggerating?

Also I noticed my webcam on my asus is a little off centered, should I return it?

I am working on getting some pictures..... But I really don't think there should be a gap between the dvd drive, ill show you what I mean

something tells me they're not going to stop production and recall all of the notebooks because there's a gap between the dvd drive and the chassis.

odds are it's something with your particular machine. have you tried taking the drive out and re-installing it? sometimes there's a little wiggle room when you install components.

Well i was mostly asking because its a brand new machine

I will try to get a replacement and see if the replacement is any better

But i really do think its the dvd drive itself because i can push it in and it will cllse the gap, but as soon as i let i got theres the gap again

Was it like this when you first opened the box? It could just be that the DVD drive is out of its original position.

It's probably just the spring in the drive tray. All drives have a bit of give to reduce vibration transferred to the rest of the computer.
