    What do you all think of this laptop? How does it perform? Does the 310m card do decently well?

    I know that the Gforce 310 was modified for the u33jc and was underclocked. Is this the case with the U43JC? I would really appreciate any help I can get on this matter.

    Hi IntenseIGFX. I think you'll get more response if you post this query over on the U33Jc/U43Jc thread HERE.

    Quick answer is "yes." Except for the U30Jc, it appears that ASUS has underclocked the 310M+its VRAM in all of their U+UL series notebooks.

    The underclock isn't huge and it can be clocked back up via the NVIDIA System Tools add-on for the NVIDIA Control Panel.

    At system, the U30 gets about 3700+ in 3DMark06. The U33/35/43/45Jc all get about 3400+. The same for the newer UL30Jt+Vt (also 3400).

    The U30 vs U33/43/35/45/UL30:
    Core: 625 / 606
    VRAM: 790 / 667
    Shaders: 1530 / 1468
    3DMark06: 3700 / 3400

    I'm not 100% certain on the GPU clock speeds on the U45 & U43, though I am pretty sure, so do ask on their respective threads. Some say the underclock is due to ASUS using cheaper VRAM. Others feel it is due to a thinner body (heat issues).
